Class Endowed Fund Program –
The Class Endowed Fund program was announced. Each class at St. Joseph School starting with the first class in 1930 through the current kindergarten class has its own fund. Each year a new fund is added for the kindergarten class.
The minimum amount for these funds to be eligible to begin making grants is $4,000.
The unique benefit to these funds is the class has the opportunity to choose (the purpose) (the item or area of the school) they would like to benefit from their grant from year to year.
All in school classes at the time received a beginning balance of $2,000 from an anonymous donor and since the Endowment has allocated $2,000 for each new kindergarten class.
Alumni classes have the opportunity to gather at an annual meeting and decide what they will grant from their class fund each year. You must be present to participate. Should no one from the class be present, the Alumni Association Board will then decide.
For current in school classes, we meet with the class to present a list of options for them and then meet again for the class to vote, majority rules.
This program is a great way for the current students to learn to give back to their school.
